Our Guiding Principles

Jan Chetna Manch, Bokaro hopes for a society without poverty; discrimination – on the basis of gender, caste, or religion; malnutrition; corruption; violence or environmental degradation.

It believes that unless the poorest and weakest sections of our society are empowered, they will remain poor and weak. Jan Chetna Manch, Bokaro's activities are guided by this principle and focuses its activities on the poorest and weakest not as recipients of charity, but as active participants in changing their lives. The promotion of ‘self help’, as an empowering strategy, stems from this guiding principle.
